Week 164: ChatGPT meets the Bhagavad Gita? Hindu Concept of Pilgrimage
Modern Hindu Content - 02/04/2023
Welcome to Eternal Path! This week we feature: A GPT based app for getting advice from the Bhagavad Gita, a video on Hindu pilgrimages, and an aesthetic!
Technology Highlight: GitaGPT
Our readers are likely to be familiar with the ChatGPT AI interface that allows users to ask the AI platforms a variety of questions and get answers, sometimes even code, essays, and more in response! One enterprising self-taught developer from India, Kishan Sharma, built an AI engine leveraging GPT technology to answer user questions with quotes and analysis from the Bhagavad Gita!
According to Sharma, GitaGPT “uses the OpenAI GPT-3 API (specifically, text-davinci-003) and Vercel Edge functions with streaming. It constructs a prompt based on the form and user input, sends it to the GPT-3 API via a Vercel Edge function, then streams the response back to the application.”
In the last week its already generated over 100,000 pieces of advice! While we always recommend you go to a respected guru for a deeper understanding of the Gita, we are excited to play around more with GitaGPT!
