Reading Highlights: Short Reads
@SkandaVeera has a great thread here on “in-faced” versus “out-faced” traditions and their role in religious study and interreligious dialogue
“Sarva Dharma Sambhava” (Loose Translation: “all religions are the same”) is a phrase coined by Mohandas Gandhi with no provenance in any Hindu text, but often elevated to a pillar of Hinduism in this age of ignorance. CISIndus has a great takedown of this phrase, utilizing the Hindi traditionalist parody phrase “Sarva Garam Vadapav”
Indo-Greek Kingdoms are a favorite topic of ours (see our Week 20 and Week 2 issues) and @porbotialora has a fantastic and well-researched thread here on Indo-Greek Kingdoms and the Hindu presence on the island of Socotra in Yemen
Audio Highlight: Conversation on the Traditionalist Hindu
The Brownpundits podcast has an interesting conversation with Srikanta Krishnamacharya , who we have linked to in previous issues, a writer on economics, Indian history, and Hinduism. The link at their website has links to the episode on various streaming platforms. Spotify below:
