Art Highlight: Hindu NFT Collection
Non Fungible Tokens or NFTs have taken both the crypto and art spaces by storm and have entered mainstream consciousness in 2021. Readers following this space would likely have heard of Cryptopunks, Bored Ape Yacht Club, NBA TopShot, and other prominent NFT releases. Now, there is Hinduism focused content available for purchase on the NFT platform OpenSea, courtesy of Upstrm. Their current collection is available at: https://opensea.io/upstrm?tab=created and displayed in the screenshot below.
History Highlight: Columbus Day and the Mughals
From the impeccable Dr. Indu Viswanathan. A succinct skewering of “South Asian” Americans and their refusal to honestly appraise Hindu history. Also gets a nice jab at Audrey Truschke, Hinduphobe, relative of missionaries, and most importantly, Aurangzeb’s #1 fangirl.
Event Highlight: Bengal Without Pujo
CoHNA is hosting an event to discuss recent violence against Hindus in Bangladesh occurring during Durga Puja. The Clubhouse link is: https://www.clubhouse.com/event/PrWq05DG and the discussion begins Saturday October 16 at 11:30am EDT.
